Ferriday High School, home of the Trojans, prides itself on striving for academic excellence.  We offer a variety of one-half unit and whole unit courses, which require one semester and two semesters of instruction, respectively.  Based on a student’s goals and aspirations, we dedicate ourselves to helping each student to make choices among course offerings that will be most beneficial to helping her/him attain the goals set.

We implement a holistic approach in order that we address our students’ need for academic, physical, emotional, and social growth and development.  Using the qualities symbolized in the Trojan mascot, the entire faculty and staff challenge our students to embody the necessary energy, courage, determination and resolution to be successful in all areas of their lives.

As students make choices, we stress the need for discipline, for discipline is a key to success.  We teach that self-discipline enables students to reach their highest potential while at Ferriday High School and in real-life situations beyond Ferriday High School.  We instill that self-discipline encourages a respect for the property, privileges and rights of others, thereby promoting a respect for one’s own property, privileges and rights.

We encourage our students to show their Trojan pride at all times, pride in themselves, our school, and the community-at-large.  Our philosophy is that together we can all make a difference in assuring that Ferriday High School is the best that it can be.

Ferriday High School’s Mission:

1.   To set high academic standards

2.   To provide quality instruction to meet the standards set

3.   To seek and encourage the involvement of all stakeholders

4.   To teach students honesty, self-reliance, and respect for others
