2013 Mardi Gras Ball

Our annual Mardi Gras Ball has been scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Correctional Facility on Highway 15. The exact time will be announced later.

Doughnut sales will determine the court. The top sellers, boy and girl, in fifth grade will be crowned king and queen.

The top sellers, two boys and two girls, in third and fourth grade will serve as princes and princesses on the court.

If your child has your permission to participate, order forms will be available on Wednesday, January 16.

All money and order forms must be turned in by February 1. Winners will be announced on Monday, February 4.

 Week of October 23-26, 2012/ Tuesday-Friday

As an effort to encourage our children to live drug-free lives, we will be observing Red Ribbon Week at Ferriday Upper. The following activities have been planned for your child’s participation:

· Tuesday---- Wear Red Day- Wear red shirt with uniform pants.

· Wednesday---- Sock it to Drugs- Wear red socks

· Thursday----- We ‘CAN’ All Say No to Drugs-Students will bring can good(s); I’m too Sharp to do Drugs---- Dress up Day

· Friday---- Team up Against Drugs- Wear your favorite team jersey/shirt with uniform pants; if you pay $1, you can wear jeans.

FUE is Connecting to Those in NEED

This year FUE 4-H has once again partnered with Suddenlink of Alexandria for our annual food drive. Suddenlink is the corporate sponsor for the Food Bank of Central Louisiana. Suddenlink will present a cash prize of $500 to the school that collects the most can goods. In addition to a cash prize for schools, individuals donating five non-perishable food items can register to win a 50" plasma TV, a Bose surround sound system or an X-Box 360. Winners will be announces on November 28th. All canned good can be dropped off at FUE or sent with any student. The class collecting the most canned goods will receive a pizza party.

Smart Bodies

Ferriday Upper Elementary is participating in the Smart Bodies Program, a comprehensive health program to build strong bodies and active minds. Click on the attachment(s) below to learn more about this program.
