Concordia Parish Academy is excited to introduce Esports as the newest addition to our student activities! This program creates a fun and engaging environment where young gamers can come together, build teamwork and communication skills, and participate in non-sanctioned gaming competitions against other teams.

LHSAA has concluded the games selected for competition, giving our students the opportunity to compete in:

🚗 Rocket League

CPA Esports is more than gaming—it’s about teamwork, strategy, sportsmanship, and having fun while representing our school!

📅 Team Expectations

Students selected to participate should expect to attend after-school team meetings and practices. These sessions will help players prepare, develop teamwork and strategy, and get ready for competition.

More information about meeting schedules, practices, competitions, and other team details will be released at a later date.

Morning Sweetness: Pre-K Celebrates Donuts for Dads/Dudes! 🍩🥤

It was a cool morning filled with warm smiles, happy hearts, and delicious treats at Concordia Parish Academy! On Friday, September 11, 2026, we welcomed dads, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures to our outside picnic tables for our annual Donuts for Dads/Dudes event.

Our Pre-Kindergarten students were beaming with joy as they guided their guests to the tables to share a special breakfast. Everyone enjoyed fresh, sweet donuts served alongside cool cups of apple juice, orange juice, and water. After finishing their morning refreshments, the dads and their little ones headed over to shop the Scholastic Book Fair together, picking out new stories to read before the students returned to their classrooms for the day.

A massive thank you goes out to our wonderful Pre-K team, Mrs. Savannah Anderson and Mrs. Karen Johnson, for organizing such a memorable morning for our students and families! We also extend a special thanks to Officer Kenneth Tucker and Mrs. Stephanie Murphy for jumping in and helping out on the serving line! Thank you to Mrs. Jennyfer Gibson for getting all our Dads signed in!

Thank you to all of our incredible CPA PreK Dads and Dudes for showing up and making this day so meaningful for our youngest learners!

Celebrating Love and Literacy: Grandparents Day & The Book Fair! 🍩📚

Concordia Parish Academy was filled with smiles, warm hugs, and incredible energy on Tuesday, September 8! We were thrilled to welcome over 200 grandparents and special family members into our gym early in the morning for our annual Grandparents Day celebration and Scholastic Book Fair.

Guests were greeted with fresh donuts, orange juice, apple juice, and cold water while enjoying the vibrant sights and sounds of the book fair. It was a wonderful morning as family members spent quality time visiting their grandchildren right here at school and spoiling them with brand-new books and fun accessories of their choice!

A heartfelt thank you to all of the family members who attended and made generous donations to our CPA classrooms. Your incredible support directly promotes literacy and helps instill a lifelong love of reading in our students.

The Yoyo Craze Hits CPA: NED Show Fun Continues! 🪀✨

Following the incredible energy of the NED Show Mind Assembly, the excitement at Concordia Parish Academy reached a whole new level! From September 1 through September 4, students had the opportunity to buy their very own yoyos bright and early each morning before school. You could see the pure joy on their faces as they carefully scanned the vibrant colors and picked out the exact model to take home.

A special shoutout goes to our awesome librarian, Mr. Christopher Cather, who provided top-notch customer service to our young patrons! Mr. Cather didn't just help with sales—he brought the magic to life by giving live demonstrations, showing the kiddos how to wind their strings, throw a proper spin, and try out their very first tricks.

Chilling Out with Science! 🧊☀️

Our 7th-grade scientists in Mrs. Shelby Strong’s class have been putting thermal energy to the test with their latest hands-on experiment: Modeling the Cup System and Energy!

To figure out how light, heat, and insulation interact, students compared a cup of water soaking up the sunshine outside with a cup of ice water keeping cool indoors. Before testing, our young researchers wrote down their hypotheses and sketched out initial models in their science notebooks.

After tracking temperatures, mass, and heat transfer, the classes came together to build consensus models and map out their findings on chart paper around the room. From measuring how insulated cups trap the cold to analyzing how sunlight warms things up, these 7th graders proved that science is best learned by diving right in!

They tuned in attentively to hear the "Wellness Wednesday Minute" over the intercom, taking their very first steps toward learning healthy habits for life.

**A Well-Deserved Feast: CPA Staff Treated to Sportsman Fish Fry**

There is no milestone quite like making it through the first month of a new school year, and on Friday, August 28, 2026, the hardworking team at Concordia Parish Academy got to celebrate that victory in the tastiest way possible. To honor their incredible effort, dedication, and energy over the past few weeks, staff members were treated to a delicious, hot lunch during their break.

The room was filled with smiles and delicious aromas as teachers and team members gathered for a classic Southern meal. The menu hit every single high note: golden-fried catfish, perfectly seasoned fries, fresh coleslaw, and warm, fluffy hushpuppies. To top off the feast, everyone enjoyed a slice of sweet, rich pound cake alongside refreshing cold drinks—a complete meal fit for a team that goes above and beyond every single day.

Launching a new school year requires endless passion, patience, and coordination, and this special lunch was a small token of gratitude for a job extraordinarily well done.

Families and grandparents, this is a friendly reminder that our Grandparent's Day and the Annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the CPA Gym on Tuesday, September 8, 2026!

📍 Grandparents may report directly to CPA GYM and do not need to stop by the office. Families will check in at the gym and receive their breakfast refreshments there. The gym is located on the far right side of the building. A sign is posted outside. Students will be called to the gym to enjoy the event.

⏰ Event Time: 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

💵 Payment Reminder: If you plan to pay with cash, please bring small bills when possible. Debit and credit cards are also accepted for payment.
