Monterey High School Update: School will resume tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 29. We understand some families are still without power; please note that students still affected by outages will receive an excused absence.

Come one, come all to The Greatest Show of all! Our Special Olympics Day 2026 will be held on April 9. 2026 at Vidalia High School. We look forward to celebrating our incredible athletes and the joy they bring to this special day.

The CPSB Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) offers guidance on special education policies, procedures, and resources. It also engages in outreach activities to the Concordia Parish community at large to enhance awareness, support, and collaboration in special education. We have three upcoming meetings: February 27, April 24 and May 15, 2026. Stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

Please take some time to fill out this Parent Survey for the State of Louisiana. We want to know what Louisiana's parents and caregivers are saying about their child care arrangements and experiences.

The survey is open from October 15 - October 29.

Hearing and vision screenings will start the week of August 25, 2025 for students in PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grades. If you prefer that your child not participate in these screenings, please complete the opt-out form below and either email it to the CPSB School Nurse at jsharp@cpsbla.us or deliver it to your child's principal.

Additionally, if your child is not in one of the specified grade levels but you would like them to be screened, you may request a screening by contacting the CPSB School Nurse at the email address above.

If your child needs medication administered at school, please submit the completed paperwork to the school nurses as soon as possible. Doctor’s orders must be renewed every school year and be dated after July 1. Paperwork can be faxed to 318‑336‑3486.

The Concordia Parish School Board will hold its regular June meeting on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Ferriday Junior High School Gym, 201 MLK, at 6:00 PM. As always, the public is welcome to attend.

Ahoy, families of Multilingual Scholars! We know summer has just begun, and the last thing your child wants is more school -- so we've completely revamped next week's ESL summer camp into an exciting pirate-themed treasure hunt adventure! Students will join our crew for a week filled with fun and discovery, including activities like Talk Like a Pirate, Build Your Own Pirate Ship STEM challenge, and tackling interactive Escape Room challenges to find all the parts of the treasure map. Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience that builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and makes learning English exciting. The Concordia Parish School Board will be providing free breakfast and lunch to kids ages 1-18 this summer! Meals will be served from May 27th to July 18th at Ferriday High, Ferriday Upper, Monterey High, Vidalia High, Vidalia Jr, Vidalia Upper and Clayton Head Start.

Join us for a fun and FREE 4-H Summer Day Camp happening June 10–12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ferriday Youth Center (202 Vogt St, Ferriday, LA). This exciting camp is open to Concordia Parish students ages 7–11 and will feature hands-on activities, learning, and plenty of summer fun! Call 318-414-6055 to register. CPSB School Food Service celebrated the retirement of two amazing team members—Carolyn Cooley and Villa Taylor! We thank them for their years of dedicated service and wish them all the best in this new chapter!

End-of-Year Medication Pickup Reminder Parents, please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication from the school by the last day of school, as nurses will not be available during the summer. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to take medication home. If you need to send someone else to pick it up, please notify the school. Unclaimed or unneeded medication will be properly disposed of. Contact your school nurse with any questions. All medicine needs to be picked up by 1 pm on May 23, 2025. Thank you for your cooperation, and have a great summer!
