We know summer has just begun, and the last thing your child wants is more school -- so we've completely revamped next week's ESL summer camp into an exciting pirate-themed treasure hunt adventure!
Students will join our crew for a week filled with fun and discovery, including activities like Talk Like a Pirate, Build Your Own Pirate Ship STEM challenge, and tackling interactive Escape Room challenges to find all the parts of the treasure map.
Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience that builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and makes learning English exciting.

The Concordia Parish School Board will be providing free breakfast and lunch to kids ages 1-18 this summer! Meals will be served from May 27th to July 18th at Ferriday High, Ferriday Upper, Monterey High, Vidalia High, Vidalia Jr, Vidalia Upper and Clayton Head Start.


Join us for a fun and FREE 4-H Summer Day Camp happening June 10–12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ferriday Youth Center (202 Vogt St, Ferriday, LA). End-of-Year Medication Pickup Reminder
Parents, please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication from the school by the last day of school, as nurses will not be available during the summer. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to take medication home. If you need to send someone else to pick it up, please notify the school. Unclaimed or unneeded medication will be properly disposed of. Contact your school nurse with any questions. All medicine needs to be picked up by 1 pm on May 23, 2025. Thank you for your cooperation, and have a great summer!

Medicaid consent forms have been sent home to those who do not already have one on file. You do not need to be on Medicaid to sign the form! Giving consent allows us to receive School-Based Medicaid funds, which help purchase health supplies and equipment at no cost to you. It does not affect your child’s private insurance or Medicaid benefits in any way. Once submitted, the consent remains valid for the duration of your child’s enrollment at CPSB. The CPSB Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) offers guidance on special education policies, procedures, and resources. It also engages in outreach activities to the Concordia Parish community at large to enhance awareness, support, and collaboration in special education. We have two upcoming meetings: March 21 and April 25. Stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

Free ACT Workshop! Senator Katrina Jackson-Andrews in conjunction with Representative Adrian Fisher, Representative Travis Johnson, JRF Outreach, and BRBG Consulting, LLC is excited to announce a Free ACT Workshop, scheduled to take place on the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) campus. The workshop will be hosted from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering a valuable preparation for students preparing for the ACT.

School-Based Medicaid consent forms will be sent home with your child's report card this week. By providing your consent, you allow us to bill School-Based Medicaid to cover nursing and therapy services for students. This funding helps us purchase essential supplies and expand our team to better support our students.
Please note that School-Based Medicaid is entirely separate from regular Medicaid and does not impact your child’s personal insurance or limit visits to your medical provider. There are no charges involved.
We kindly ask that you consider signing and returning the consent form to the school as soon as possible. Thank you for allowing us to continue serving your student!

National Bullying Awareness Month: Say No to Bullying Contest
October is National Bullying Awareness Month, and we are excited to launch two contests aimed at promoting kindness and inclusion among our students!
Say No to Bullying Poster Contest: Open to students in grades PreK-2. Students can express their creativity by designing posters that encourage others to stand against bullying. One winner from all entries will be selected and will receive a $50 prize!
Essay Contest: Open to students in grades 3-12. School winners will advance to the district level where one winner will be selected from each grade level—elementary, middle, and high school. Each winner will receive a $50 prize!
Essay Theme: Why is Showing Empathy Important?
Encourage your children to participate and help spread the message that bullying has no place in our schools. Let’s stand together and say NO to bullying!
