School-Based Medicaid consent forms will be sent home with your child's report card this week. By providing your consent, you allow us to bill School-Based Medicaid to cover nursing and therapy services for students. This funding helps us purchase essential supplies and expand our team to better support our students.
Please note that School-Based Medicaid is entirely separate from regular Medicaid and does not impact your child’s personal insurance or limit visits to your medical provider. There are no charges involved.
We kindly ask that you consider signing and returning the consent form to the school as soon as possible. Thank you for allowing us to continue serving your student!
October is Principal Appreciation Month, and we are excited to honor the incredible leadership of our school principals. Principals play a vital role in fostering positive learning environments, supporting teachers, and guiding our students toward success. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence shape the future of our community.
Please join us in celebrating our principals and showing appreciation for all they do! Whether it’s a note of thanks, a kind word, or simply recognizing their efforts, let’s take this opportunity to express our gratitude.
Thank you to all our principals for being the heart of our schools!

Our CPSB school nurses have been diligently reviewing immunization records for priority grades: Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 11th grade. If your child is in one of these grades, please ask them if they received a letter indicating that their shot record information is incomplete at school. The Louisiana Department of Health reviews immunization records annually, and a student may be required to stay home until their immunization status is up to date, whether through shot records or an exemption. You can send shot records to shotrecords@cpsbla.us. Students who have received notifications recently should ensure their information is updated by October 22, 2024. If your child was vaccinated in Mississippi, please provide the complete shot record, which may include 2-3 pages, particularly for older students. Our CPSB school nurses are committed to keeping our students and staff healthy! Please help by following up on your child's vaccinations. We want to prevent any loss of valuable classroom time due to incomplete records. Other grades will also be assessed throughout the year for compliance with immunization requirements. Thank you for your support in making our district thrive!

School will resume tomorrow, September 12, as normal. We look forward to welcoming your children back for a day of learning and growth. If anything changes overnight, we will notify you promptly via Facebook, our district website and JCall. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Revision due to error: Due to the expected impact of Hurricane Francine, all CPSB schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, September 11. In addition, all extracurricular activities are cancelled as well. Please note that school will be in session on Monday, October 7, 2024 to ensure that we maintain our instructional schedule. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Please stay safe.

We are actively monitoring the weather conditions and will inform employees and families of any closures through our JCall system, CPSB Facebook page, and local media. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
